Fairfax Area Christian Emergency & Transitional Services, Inc. (FACETS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing comprehensive services to impoverished men, women, and children to address their physical, spiritual and emotional needs.
In the past year, FACETS has provided critical services and programs to more than 2,900 individuals who were homeless or living in low-income government subsidized housing properties in Fairfax County.
According to the 2008 Point in Time Survey, within Fairfax County there are 1,835 individuals who are "literally homeless," which does not include people housed in permanent supportive housing programs, like FACETS':
• 41% of the homeless population in Fairfax are individuals or couples with no children. • 59% of the homeless population in Fairfax are persons in families. • 39% of the people surveyed who were over 18 were employed full or part time.
