Connections of the Heart Tours
FACETS is now holding Connections of the Heart Tours that showcase our programs!
Come learn more about the innovative programs and services that are offered by FACETS to
the individuals who are homeless or living in impoverished low-income housing communities in Fairfax County:
- Hot Meals Tours
Have you ever wondered where the people who are homeless in Fairfax live? Come with FACETS’ Hot Meals volunteers
and meet some of the individuals in Fairfax who are homeless and living in motels, in their cars, under bridges, and in the woods.
- Community Development
Would you like to meet some of the children participating in
FACETS’ ECD programs? Come meet the kids and interact with them in a fun and entertaining atmosphere!
These tours are not fundraising events; they are opportunities to explore the world of the impoverished and
at-risk populations in Fairfax and to learn more about the programs and services FACETS offers to those who
are suffering and in need of help.
Tours are free and open to everyone interested in learning more about FACETS.

- Hot Meals program tours may be scheduled any day of the month. Hot Meals tours begin at 5:45 pm and follow the regular Hot Meals team as they deliver hot dinners to the men, women, and children who are homeless and living on the streets, in their cars, in the woods, or temporarily staying in a motel while they are on the waiting list for a local homeless shelter.
- Community Development programs tours are dependent upon the season and the program schedule, so please contact Deborah Heller/Events and Development Associate to arrange a tour.
- All tours begin at the FACETS office and attendees will be driven in the FACETS van to the tour venue. Tours generally last approximately 1 hour and the FACETS van will leave promptly at the posted time of the tour to ensure adequate time at the tour venue.
- Community Development tours have varying times and feature different educational programs that reach out to children and adults who are homeless or living in low-income government subsidized housing communities. Examples of programs include: Passport to Reading, Girl Power!, Boys Group, Homework Help, Computer Classes, etc.
- Please sign up for a tour at least 48 hours in advance of the requested date.
